Fuqua K-12 Lower School
Fuqua School is a private college preparatory school located on a 60-acre campus east of Farmville. When a new general purpose building was added to the Lower School in 1994, it was outfitted with a 56-ton vertical closed-loop GHP system. This building has a wide variety of space conditioning needs, including classrooms, a library media center, computer and science labs, and a 7,000 square-foot auditorium/gymnasium, which is also used as a cafeteria.
According to Rebecca Kelly, Dean of the Lower School, teachers, students and administrators are all pleased with the system. “We particularly like the temperature control we have in individual areas,” she reports. “We may need the gym to be at one temperature, while the library or classrooms can be at other temperatures. We can even heat and cool different parts of the building at the same time, if we want.”
